I don’t think this is predatory. When I was 19, I dated a man who was 25. We met through college friends. He was a good man, but I transferred to another school and knew the long distance wouldn’t facilitate our relationship. We broke up 7 months after we started dating and remained friends. He was a good man, but we weren’t the right match for each other. We both went on to marry other people, thankfully I found my right match.

My oldest son works in corporate IT for a large company. He’s 25, if we want to talk predatory, the mid 30s, “I have my master’s degree and spent my fertile years working my way up corporate” actually hit on him regularly. Told him to stay away from these train wrecks if he wants a family and he does. They are still attractive enough, but have run into the wall and are looking for anyone who will bail them out of the self-made ditch they’re in. These women are sitting on a half empty carton of expired eggs and at this point in their lives there is absolutely no way they haven’t been down on everything but the Titanic.

I feel so bad for men. I know a handful whole have dropped out of the dating pool because selection is horrid. I know a few who are looking abroad to Asian countries because “the women are traditional”.

In about ten years, there’s going to be a hoard of spinsters mad that they couldn’t lock down a man.

I waited too long to have kids. Part of it was quite frankly a fear of divorce. When men get divorced, they almost always get the short end of the stick.

My boy is only 7. I’ve actually discussed marriage with him, because he’s brought it up. He has it in his mind that he will have a huge family. This is probably at least partly the result of our circumstances, my raising him alone.

That said, I told him he should wait until he is 25, but I don’t want him to wait like I did. I want him to marry young and to marry a young girl. My reason for this, is because, I think it is natural and what God intended.

Think about it, we go through puberty when we are maybe 13. How is it natural to wait until you are 35 to get married? It virtually guarantees you will run around, and we can all see how well that has turned out.

Also, I think it’s best to be innocent when you marry. I don’t know about the rest of you but for me that innocent love was very different. As we age and Become more “fixed in our ways” it becomes more difficult to grow with someone.

There is a misery in the hearts of middle aged, childless women who have spent their youth on relationships that amounted to little more than sexual encounters. Either she is an adult, or she is not.

Women would commonly marry as young as 14 in the United States even seventy years ago, are we supposed to believe 19 is now too young as well?
