Hello all.
I (32/f) am trying to put myself out there after leaving a nine-year relationship. First date scheduled and already I am thinking of canceling. Wondering if I’m overreacting here.
I’ve been talking to an old friend. He’s 34/m. We were friends back when we were teens/early adults. He always seemed quiet, but always seemed so respectful, very witty, and funny. Plus, he’s a musician, which tends to be a turn on for me for whatever reason.
Well, our conversations have gotten very heavy with lots of flirting. He asked me out. We agreed to a date next weekend. Now I’m thinking of hoping out because I found out he has been dating/sleeping with an 18-year-old.
A mutual friend told snitched about it, last night. And while that’s technically legally an adult, I can’t help but feel kind of sick to my stomach. I’ll admit, when I was a teen (underaged), I dated a couple of older men.
As an adult biological clock shouting female, I realize they were creeps who preyed on my naivety and insecurities.
Now, I can’t help but feel disgust toward this guy…and myself for liking him so much. Can anyone relate? Am I just being bitter or am I justified in feeling disgusted?
